The name
Taleco joins two words for the same thing, one in each language: 'Tal' is Danish and covers both the numbers and the conversation about them. 'Eco' is English for economy. Half Danish, half English — much like the companies that today trade, hire and report across borders.
Economics as an international language
When a Danish company closes its accounts, it does not speak only Danish. It speaks the Danish Financial Statements Act and the Bookkeeping Act. It speaks VAT across EU borders and OECD standards for transfer pricing. And when the accounts must be audited, it speaks the auditors’ language.
This is the paradox Taleco is built to handle. We are deeply rooted in Danish accounting practice and Danish tax law — and we treat international reporting standards and tax law as an integrated part of our daily craft. When the accounts must be audited, we coordinate it with our state-authorised partner auditors.
That is why we offer our website, our communication and our reporting in Danish, English, German, French and Arabic. It is a recognition that the company we work for rarely speaks only one language.

'Good accounting practice' is for us not merely a technical term from company law. It is an ethical starting point. The numbers must be true, complete and understandable — not only for authorities and auditors, but for the manager who must make decisions based on them.
